Toughened Glass

Toughened glass conforms with Grade A safety requirements and is up to 5 times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness.
If toughened glass breaks, it fractures into relatively small harmless particles. One of its great qualities is that it can resist thermal heat stress on oven doors, showers and splashbacks.
The Glass Shoppe recommends and uses toughened glass for doors, side panels, lower level glass, glass balustrades, pool fences and shower and bath screens. It also has applications in automotive, marine and furniture.

Double Glazing

The Glass Shoppe can assist you with your double-glazing requirements.
Double-glazed units comprise two layers of glass separated by a spacer and the whole insulated unit is hermetically sealed. The system works effectively to reduce heat loss or solar heat gain and reduces the likelihood of condensation forming thermal barriers between the inside and out.
We offer an on-site inspection and quotation service obligation-free.

Glass Cleaners

Many struggle on using locally available household glass cleaners, and it can be depressing for householders who have spent time in a quest for an efficient streak-free cleaner.
But look no further! We have three new and exciting products for you!
Firstly, American formulated Hi Sheen aerosol glass cleaner is nothing less than fantastic. We have hundreds of converted users in the Greater Wellington area and they are 100% sold on Hi Sheen for cleaning down all flat surfaces in kitchens and bathrooms.
And then we have Sparkle, which is brilliant for lifting water stains, aluminium glazing marks on glass or road film build-up on car windows.
For the really stubborn build-ups such as mineral deposits, lime scale or soap scum try our Invisible Shield Pre Clean 2000. This compound deep cleans the glass and makes it like new again.

Glass Hardware

The Glass Shoppe stocks much of the modern glass hardware, but if not we can source your specialist needs overnight. Glass hinges, shelf brackets, fingerpulls, sliding glass track, mirror screws, cat doors, locks etc. We can supply it all, quality NZ or European crafted.
Frameless glass system hardware can be supplied for shower and bath installations.

Glass Blocks

The Glass Shoppe uses and recommends the German Solaris Glass Block Range.
The Solaris blocks come with spacers, expansion strip and with the option of aluminium timber or stainless steel frames to complete the installation.

Heat Resistant Glass

Areas such as wood burners, furnaces and fire guards, require specialist glass known as glass ceramics.
These glass types can withstand temperatures up to 700-800° C and achieve their effectiveness by having very low rates of expansion when heated. Without expansion, stress is not created. The Glass Shoppe can quickly repair that broken wood burner door – we like to think we can put a little warmth into your lives.

Putties and Sealants

To complement our extensive range of glass we have sealants and putties for all applications – woodsash and steel frame putty, butyl tape, silicones, urethanes, sealants, inseal foam tapes and wedge rubber gaskets.
With our knowledge of the glass trade we can advise, and supply sealing compounds or strips to undertake any glazing job in your home, commercial premises, car or boat.

Picture Framing Supplies

Many firms are protective about selling framing supplies, but we like to help and encourage the do-it-yourselfer.
Picture frame mouldings. Mat boards, backing boards, Clear, non-reflective and conservation glass, tapes, hinges etc can all be purchased in stock length / sheet form or on a cut to size service.
